- Anna G5 stars for Original Pantry Cafe. Wow! First off, I'm a big history nerd. I LOVE the history behind this place and the numerous photos they have displayed throughout the restaurant. My fiance and I have driven past this place many, many times while driving to a destination in Downtown L.A. and we would always see the long line outside. It piqued our curiosity. So on a sunny, early Sunday morning, we decided to try this place out and have a breakfast date. Payment tip: CASH ONLY! Parking tip: Park across the street and your parking gets validated for 90 minutes. It's a small lot, though, so get there early. There's another parking lot adjacent to it for a flat fee of $10. We arrived around 8:30am and our wait time was only 15 minutes. We were seated and served right away. Wow, is service FAST here! They gave us our order within 5 minutes. We ended up sharing a plate and we were SO glad that we did! We both walked out of there with very happy tummies and a great impression of this ...
- Brian JWhat’s not to love! What makes the Patrick Café so amazing is that they grow their own food! The bread is made in house their eggs are fresh from their own farms and so is the bacon! What a great way to get a late night breakfast with a friend and some coffee. Pro tip: there’s almost never a wait for seating at the bar, just walk right up! Enjoy!
- Stephen BI love this place! Approaching 100 yrs old (not me, the joint!) and still has that old cafe charm. Chalkboard menus on every wall, no handheld menus. Incredible sour bread toast buttered well for nibbling on while waiting for our meal. I had the Pork Chops with Mashed Potatoes and Corn and she brought me apple sauce on request instead of salad. It was delicious. Interesting that the pork chops did not taste seasoned, yet flavorful. I added S&P. Waitress was on it, refilling coffee and making sure we had everything. My daughter got the French toast and we shared the two meals. We found out later that sourdough French toast is available. We will be trying that next time. ✌️
